Warning: We Were Liars is a complete heartbreaker of a book. It's the story of a wealthy American family (think private schools and a Summer house on a New England island) that's been hit by tragedy. You don't find out until quite late in the book exactly what the devastating event that's taken place is, but when you do - wow - it takes your breath away.
