The Prince and Princess of Wales have announced a surprise event with the Princess of Pop, Kylie Minogue – and it’s just a few weeks away. The Earthshot Prize is an environmental award founded by the Prince of Wales and each year it culminates in a prize-giving event. This year, it will take place in November and feature a performance from Kylie Minogue, as well as other global stars.
In an exciting video on their official social media accounts, the Prince and Princess of Wales revealed the faces who would be taking to the stage for the awards ceremony on 5 November.
‘From musicians to sports icons to environmental activists, some of the world’s most influential people will join us in Rio to celebrate our Finalists and announce our five Winners,’ they wrote in a caption. The event will feature Brazilian singer Anitta performing alongside other international stars, including Canadian Shawn Mendes.

In a YouTube video introducing the first Earthshot Award, Prince William explained that a winner would be decided from a total of 15 nominees across five categories, with entries coming in from around the globe. Once a year for the following decade, the awards would honour projects creating solutions for a better world.
In another video (above) in early October, Prince William announced the full list of 2025 finalists for each category. The next awards event will be taking place in Rio, Brazil, on 5 November and you can find out more about the nominees and the award more broadly on the Earthshot Prize website.
