We’re in the midst of autumn now and, as skies become gloomier and the days get damper, we can officially declare that coat season has begun. And, if you’re looking for some style inspiration to select your new cover-up, look no further than Zara Tindall.
At Ascot Racecourse over the weekend (Saturday 18 October) the royal dressed the part in colour-contrasting navy and pinky-red for a statement look. It was Zara’s hip-length coat with wide lapels which caught our eye however, as the jacket flared at the waist into a peplum fit, reviving the popular noughties trend. She paired her navy wool coat with a matching A-line midi skirt to create a streamlined, all-in-one look.
Zara’s exact coat is the ‘Napier Boiled Wool Jacket’ by The Fold London and – good news – it’s still in stock (at time of writing) on the brand’s website in sizes 4 to 20. Zara then added a bold velvet headband and satin shirt to finish the look.

The Royal Family have a long history with horses – including dressage, polo and racing – and particularly with the Ascot venue.
