Woman in Mind

a surreal tea service scene featuring flowers and teacups
Oliver Rosser

WHEN: 9 December 2025 to 28 February 2026

WHERE: Duke of York's Theatre, London

HOW: Book here

If you recently binged ITV’s I Fought the Law (we defy you not to), you’ll have witnessed Sheridan Smith’s triumphant return to the small screen. And now, she’s bringing her brilliance to the stage in Woman in Mind, which is getting a limited (and no doubt sellout) West End run. The revival of Alan Ayckbourn’s psychological comedy is coming to the Duke of York’s Theatre and explores one woman’s fractured reality with heart and humour. When Susan sustains a bump to the head, her world splits in two - one mundane, one imagined - and we can’t think of anyone better than Sheridan to play the part.

WHEN: Until 26 October

WHERE: Shakespeare’s Globe, London

HOW: Book here

Don’t miss your last chance to see Shakespeare under the stars this year. The Globe works its usual magic on this tale of star-crossed lovers set against a backdrop of the neverending Trojan war. A play for the ages, the plot (taken from Homer’s Illiad) is a little complicated; Trojan prince Paris has abducted Helen from King Menelaus of Sparta and the Greek army has besieged Troy for seven years to try to get their queen back. Battle-weary Trojan and Greek heroes square up to each other and there’s plenty of behind-the-scenes skulduggery to follow as arch-manipulator Ulysses (Jodie McNee) plots to get the war resolved. Rumbling underneath is the love story between Trojan hero Hector’s brother Troilus (Kasper Hilton-Hille) and his beau Cressida (Charlotte O’Leary), helped along by Cressida’s aunt, a gender-swapped Pandarus (played by Samantha Spiro in hilarious Barbara Windsor-style fashion). Comedy, tragedy and satire – all elements are combined in Troilus and Cressida and The Globe’s gloriously reimagined production does Shakespeare’s vision justice.
