Netflix's "hot rabbi" Noah (Adam Brody) is returning to our screens in a tension-filled second series of Nobody Wants This - and it's all we can think about right now. If you're not familiar, the rom-com was the Netflix series of the year when it premiered last September, with fans calling it the streamer's best ever drama - and we don't disagree.
In series 1, we saw rabbi Noah and agnostic podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell) fall head over heels - but it wasn't your average love story. As you've probably gathered, the pair had wildly different lives as well as tricky, far-too-involved families to deal with and while the pair decided to make a go of it, it remains to be seen whether this love story will last.

The will-they-wont-they romantic comedy series focuses on the romance between two mismatched characters - “hot Rabbi” Noah (Brody) and sex & relationships podcaster Joanne (Bell). The show, which launched in September last year, hooked us fast and we weren't the only ones to binge watch it... The series quickly became a hit on Netflix with nearly 16 million views thanks to its wonderful mix of romance, humour and incredible chemistry between the two leads.
What will happen in Nobody Wants This series 2?
The romantic cliffhanger ending of series 1 saw Noah and Joanne decide to continue their relationship, despite lingering questions over whether Joanne would convert to Judaism. While Joanne considered converting, she said she wasn’t quite ready to commit to that process just yet. We all breathed a collective sigh of relief as Noah decided he wasn't ready to give up on their love - so what comes next?
Star Adam Brody told Tudum that he interpreted the ending as Noah promising Joanne: “I put you first. Everything else will work itself out, but I’m saying that you are my priority. In the light of day, will he still feel that way? I don’t know. It’s an open question.”
Series 2 is set to dig into that tension as the duo decide whether or not to commit. “I think that’s what the show can explore,” Adam added. “What should he do? What should she do? What version of sacrifice is worth it? What constitutes growth, or what constitutes dimming yourself to be with someone else? It’s a sacrifice, but ideally, you grow together and you’re better for it — you don’t have to [lop] off a limb.”

Excitingly, series 2 will see the arrival of some new cast members including Leighton Meester (who’s married to Adam Brody in real-life) as Abby, Joanne’s nemesis from middle school who’s now an Instagram influencer. Miles Fowler (Bottoms), Alex Karpovsky (Girls), and Arian Moayed (Succession) are also part of the new cast.
