From slogan knits to dreamy pyjamas, Bella Freud‘s newest M&S collection is set to sell out – and fast

To say that the first M&S x Bella Freud collection was a sell-out success would be a serious understatement. Full to the brim with quirky and endlessly witty knit staples, from bold-logo designs to bow-adorned striped shirts (not forgetting that pinstriped suit), the collaboration had all the hallmarks of Freud's signature style – at a much more affordable price. Naturally, everyone wanted a slice of the sartorial pie, and at record speed, the collaboration sold out.

But there’s good news. Bella Freud has collaborated with the high-street hero once again. The highly anticipated return (landing in-stores and online today, 16 October) comes at just the right time, blending bright pops of colour (think pink, green and baby blue) with charming, hand-drawn statement jumpers and pyjamas. There are plenty of pieces in the shade of the season, burgundy, too.

Considerately designed in quality materials such as cashmere, the collection is a true testament to the craftsmanship of both brands. My favourite cashmere staple has to be the ‘Dance’ jumper, or the bright red cashmere socks. The cosy collection also boasts a brilliant velvet suit that’s guaranteed to become the softest set you own, and ultimately, the warmest. A great option for the festive season.

But this collection doesn’t just stop at women’s clothing. The latest range also includes childrenswear — cute onesies, jumpers and PJs galore – as well as an adorable slogan jumper for your dog with the words ‘Best Friend’. There are also homeware staples including slogan-stamped bowls, mugs, cushions, cosy throws and plenty of candles for gifting (or self-gifting).

Speaking of the 34-piece collection, Bella said: ‘This year’s collection is based on the idea of entertaining at home. You want to be a bit dressed-up and feel glamorous, but you also want to feel at ease.’
