These Christmas jumpers are so chic, you'll want to wear them every season
From novelty knits to classic Fair Isles, these are GH’s favourites
Here at Good Housekeeping, we love a Christmas jumper – but not the kind you’re thinking of. Our favourite knits are the ones that are incredibly cosy, festive enough for the Big Day and tasteful enough to wear more than once over the season.
Yes, we firmly believe the best festive jumpers should be stylish enough to work for any occasion. Heading to a work party? Try French-tucking one into a sequin skirt for a chic twist, not forgetting your favourite pair of kitten heels. Staying in for Christmas dinner this year? Pair yours with your go-to turkey trousers (you know, the endlessly cosy ones with the elasticated waistband) and some fluffy slippers for maximum comfort.
We found plenty of options that keep things classic while still feeling wonderfully festive. Take M&S’s cloud-yarn crew with delicate snowflake embroidery as the prime example. It comes in one of our favourite colours of the season: baby blue.
Alternatively, opt for a Fair Isle knit. FatFace has given the traditional design an adorable twist with a sweet puppy motif, while New Look’s version is subtly sewn with tinsel and sequins. The Little Tailor’s chunky reindeer jumper is also a great option, featuring a snug funnel-neck design and a creamy, easy-to-style hue.
However, if you do have a soft spot for a bit of kitsch, then look no further than Boden. Their festive cardigan – complete with green ruffles reminiscent of a pine tree and colourful pompom ‘baubles’ – might just be the most ingenious Christmas jumper of the season. Because who needs a Christmas tree when you’re wearing one?
