Later this week, JD Sports will open its largest store in Europe in Barcelona. With Portal de l’Àngel, the British chain has secured a location on one of the busiest shopping streets in the Catalan capital.
Location and design
Four years of work have gone into the 1,500 sqm store on two floors at 9 Portal de l’Àngel, near the Ramblas and the central Plaça de Cataluna. JD Sports is replacing the Disney Store, after the American chain decided to close all its stores in Spain in 2021. The store, which employs 110 people, is already the sixth for JD Sports in Barcelona.
