On Thursday, Belgian outdoor retailer A.S. Adventure – a sister company of Cotswold Outdoor – opened its first city store based on a new concept in the center of Bruges. The 350 m² store offers a range of brands tailored to both local residents and tourists.

Circular services

The new city concept combines urban outdoor, lifestyle and travel in a range that fits in with city life in Bruges to surprise both locals and tourists, says the retailer. Think of a raincoat or warm fleece, a handy trolley, trendy walking shoes or casual polo shirts, or a practical daypack for city adventures. The inspiring shopping environment shows an eye for local details: for example, stickers that map out the green open spaces in Bruges.

Spread over two floors, customers will find outdoor labels such as Ayacucho, The North Face, Patagonia, Mammut, K-Way, and Columbia, alongside a wide selection of shoes from Merrell, Salomon, Lowa, Meindl, Hoka, and On. In the new store, the Belgian retailer also offers its well-known circular services: Care & Repair for the maintenance and repair of outdoor equipment, alongside the Second Life second-hand collection.

“New hotspot”

“We are extremely proud to expand our presence in Bruges with a new store in such a unique location. We feel warmly welcomed in the city and are very much looking forward to opening the store. With this new location, we are bringing our unique mix of outdoor & lifestyle directly to the shopping street, and it will undoubtedly become a new hotspot in Bruges,” says Bea De Beuckelaer, CEO of Retail Concepts, the parent company of A.S.Adventure and Juttu.

The new city store complements the retailer’s trusted store in Sint-Kruis, which has been open since 1999 and offers the full range of outdoor and lifestyle products.
