(Update) A total of 15 out of 44 Belgian stores belonging to Leen Bakker have found a buyer. In mid-December, the branches of the Dutch home furnishings chain for which no buyer was found will close permanently.
29 stores to close
A total of 15 Leen Bakker shops will be saved if the commercial court grants permission for this. Several candidates recently came forward. Bedding chain Swiss Sense is taking over two Leen Bakker stores. The Dutch retailer already has 18 stores in Flanders. The Leen Bakker store in Shopping Park Olen will be taken over by Dreamland, a store in Genk will be acquired by Dreambaby. Chaussea is also expected to take over one location, and Zoli99 is expected to take over three locations. This was announced in a press release issued by Homefashion Group on Wednesday.
