Jysk will soon be adding sixteen stores in Belgium: the Danish home furnishings chain is taking over nine stores from Leen Bakker and will be opening stores at all seven sites of what are currently still Cora hypermarkets.
One man’s loss…
For Jysk, the demise of other chains offers great opportunities. Of the 44 stores that the defunct Leen Bakker had in Belgium, the Danish chain is taking over nine. These definitely include the stores in Bruges, Dendermonde, Huy, Kuurne, Liège, Marche-en-Famenne and Zottegem; with the other two to be announced later. Jysk plans to open the first new stores early next year.
