Protecting local retailers
According to the French Direction générale de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes (DGCCRF), AliExpress and Joom sold sex dolls resembling children, while eBay, Temu and Wish offered weapons such as brass knuckles and machetes. In addition, Temu, Wish and others did not sufficiently filter out 18+ content for minors. The announcement comes shortly after the French government withdrew suspension proceedings against Shein, after the Chinese online store removed prohibited products from its website.
