Wibra has significantly accelerated its expansion in Belgium this year: with the opening of a new store in Zemst last week, the discounter now has 71 branches in the country.
The last of the year
Last Thursday, Wibra opened a new store on Brusselsesteenweg in Zemst (near Mechelen), in a building between Vanden Borre and Bel&Bo that was previously occupied by shoe retailer Pronti. It is the last store opening of the year for the discounter, which opened thirteen new stores in Belgium this year, bringing its total number of locations to 71.
This represents a significant acceleration compared to the six store openings in 2024. The chain has now almost doubled in size since its relaunch with 36 stores in October 2020.
