Shein can remain active in France after all. The French government has withdrawn the suspension procedure after banned products were removed from the website. However, the platform will remain under strict supervision and several investigations are still ongoing.

The controversy arose when the French consumer organization discovered that Shein was offering sex dolls with childlike appearances, prohibited weapons, and medicines via its platform. The government responded sharply: the company had 48 hours to rectify the violations, otherwise the site would be blocked. On Friday, the French Ministry of Finance announced that “no prohibited products are available for sale” and that the measures are being suspended for the time being. “In the event of a new violation, Shein will be blocked immediately,” Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu warned nonetheless.
