The European Parliament wants — very fittingly during this holiday season — to crack down on ‘naughty’ online stores that sell prohibited products, punishing them quickly and severely. First and foremost, MEPs seem to be targeting Shein.
Child sex dolls and weapons
The immediate cause is the sale by Shein (and other online stores) of sex dolls that looked very childlike. In addition, certain large webshops (including AliExpress, Amazon, Temu and Wish) were also found to be selling prohibited weapons and committing a series of other violations, such as not shielding sensitive content from minors.
