European e-commerce sales rose 7% last year, from 765 billion to 819 billion euros. Complex regulations and uneven or poor enforcement of European rules of the game do remain key challenges.
Highest growth in Eastern Europe
In a context of falling inflation, real growth for online commerce in Europe was 4.2%, according to the new e-commerce report from trade federations Ecommerce Europe and EuroCommerce. Western Europe represents the lion’s share of total e-commerce sales (57%), with sales of 467 billion euros at the end of 2024, or a 5% growth rate.
