Amazon wants to avoid hiring more than 600,000 new employees by automating. The e-commerce giant hopes to eliminate as many as half of all future jobs in the US.
Automating 75% of tasks
Amazon is working on a large-scale automation plan that should enable the company to eliminate more than 600,000 jobs in the United States by 2033. Although the e-commerce player expects sales volumes to roughly double by then, the company wants to use technology to automate 75% of all operations. This is according to The New York Times, based on internal documents and conversations with employees.
