Premium supermarket chain Whole Foods Market – a subsidiary of Amazon – had to swallow a 7 % drop in British sales last year and again posted millions in losses. Still, the retailer is not giving up.

As a result of the closure of two stores in Richmond and Fulham, Whole Foods Market’s UK sales fell 7 % to 86.4 million pound (nearly 100 million euros) last year, while pre-tax losses rose to 20 million pound (almost 24 million euros). Since its start in 2004, the retailer has piled up total losses of a quarter of a billion euros in Britain, The Grocer reports.
