3 items at most
Customers who visit the Tokyo store can borrow up to three items for a day and wear them outside the store. All they have to do is head to the cash register and notify staff that they will be wearing several items. After that, they can just put on the items and walk away, but they have to come back to the store that same day to either return or buy the items. Returned items will no longer be sold, but will be put in the window.
It is currently merely a pilot program in one Tokyo store, while only 30 customers can use the system per day, capping the maximum number of items to 90 per day. GU hopes to help customers decide whether certain items fit them outside of the changing booth as well.
