87 % of Dutch consumers are worried about rising food prices, research by Deloitte suggests. Three-quarters buy on sale more often or choose cheaper products, while people are also increasingly shopping abroad.
Price remains pivotal
Price is and will remain the decisive factor when Dutch shoppers choose their supermarket, according to the Deloitte Supermarkets Consumer Survey 2025. They choose cheaper alternatives in their regular supermarket, but they have become more willing to cross borders.
