“No supermarket? No problem!” That is pretty much the idea behind the “shop on four wheels” that Lidl uses to serve rural villages in Hungary. The initiative not only aims to help villagers with their shopping, but also to challenge the strict location rules in Hungary.
Same prices as in ‘usual’ stores
The bus offers a product range that consists of more than eighty basic products, including fruit and vegetables, dairy products and frozen products. Three employees will staff the bus, which of course has the necessary refrigerated and freezer compartments to deliver all products to customers in good condition.
