Lidl posted record profits in several foreign markets last year. An increase in the number of customers led to higher-than-expected sales growth of almost 7% and profit growth of more than 20%.
Above expectations
In the 2024/25 financial year, Lidl’s international activities grew by 6.9% to a turnover of 94.7 billion euros. EBITDA amounted to 6.1 billion, EBIT to 4 billion, and net profit to nearly 2.3 billion euros. This is according to recently published figures from the Lidl Stiftung, the holding company that oversees the discount chain’s international activities in 29 countries, which together account for around 72% of total sales. Large countries such as Germany and France are not included in these figures. Lidl itself reports total sales of 132.1 billion euros.
