What started at a campsite in France seven years ago, is now a brand that is active in seventeen countries and is the market leader in Belgium in the non-alcoholic aperitif segment. Annabel Soenen, Gimber Sales Director Benelux and Export, talks about the rise of a brand that combines zest and health.
From living room to supermarket
“The product actually came about by chance”, Soenen says. “While on holiday, Dimitri Oosterlynck discovered that ginger drink is a powerful ingredient, full of zest. Back in Belgium, he started experimenting in his kitchen, initially for his own use as an alternative to alcohol. But soon, people were coming especially to buy a bottle of Gimber.”
