Carrefour‘s hypermarket in Auderghem (Brussels) will be demolished to make way for a new mixed-use, residential and shopping project. It is one of the largest hypermarkets in the country and the oldest on the European continent, dating back to 1961.
Mixed-use district
Redevco wants to turn the current retail park at the Herrmann-Debroux intersection into a new mixed-use district, with housing and offices in addition to stores. The developer has already applied for an urban planning and environmental certificate. A public inquiry will run between 6 September and 5 October.
