From 18 January, Carrefour Belgium will also open its 83 stores (40 hypermarkets and 43 supermarkets) on Sundays. This step had become almost a necessity for the chain, given the success of Delhaize‘s Sunday openings.
Open on Sunday mornings
The stores in question will open every Sunday morning at 8, unless that Sunday is also a public holiday. During the end-of-year period, the stores will also be open on Sunday afternoons. Different rules may apply to stores located in shopping centres, the retailer said in a press release.
