To compensate for declining beer sales, AB InBev is increasingly looking outside its segment. The brewer is now eyeing the acquisition of BeatBox, an American producer of ready-to-drink punch in beverage cartons.
For younger consumers
BeatBox targets young drinkers who are less likely to choose beer. The products cost around 4 to 5 US dollars each and contain 8 to 11% alcohol. Thanks to partnerships with music festivals, the brand has already built up a strong fan base. BeatBox achieved a turnover of 175 million US dollars (around 161 million euros) in 2024.
The potential deal fits in with AB InBev’s broader diversification strategy, which is reflected in its ‘Beyond Beer’ portfolio. According to The Wall Street Journal, the deal has a price tag of 700 million US dollars (around 645 million euros), although it is not yet certain that the acquisition will actually go ahead.
