Japanese sportswear group Asics has achieved a double-digit growth in both sales and profits in the first three quarters of 2025. All regions saw growth this summer.
Growth everywhere
Asics’ sales rose 19 % to 625 billion yen (3.4 billion euros), while operating profit rose by as much as 39 % to 128 billion yen (700 million euros) – although this was a slowdown compared to the + 64 % growth recorded a year earlier. The big stars were brands such as SportStyle and Onitsuka Tiger, which grew by almost half compared to last year.
Net sales increased in all geographical regions, especially in South and Southeast Asia (+33.3%). Growth was 25 % in Europe, 22.5 % in Japan itself, and 18.8 % in “Greater China.” North America was the weakest performer, but still grew by + 7.9 %.
The Japanese group cites the World Athletics Championships, held in Tokyo in September, as one of the reasons for the impressive growth. Asics was also very present at other athletics tournaments through sponsorship. How the sports fashion group will perform next year, given the high bar set by this World Athletics Championships, is another question entirely…
