In the quarter ending 31 October, American fashion group Urban Outfitters has achieved quarterly sales of more than 1.5 billion dollars for the first time. Group sales rose by 12.3 %, thanks to growth across all channels — retail, wholesale and especially subscriptions.
Growth across the board
Retail sales increased by 9.6 % to 1.296 billion dollars, while wholesale sales rose 7.6 % to 88 million dollars. Thanks to the enormous growth in the past quarter, subscription revenues are now approaching 150 million dollars. All brands also grew: Urban Outfitters itself recorded an increase of 12.5 % (in comparable sales), Anthropologie grew by 7.6 % and Free People by 4.1 %.
