Swatch looks to the future with optimism, despite disappointing half-year figures. According to the Swiss watchmaker, the Chinese market is coming back to life.
Blame it on China
In its last semester, Swatch’s revenue fell by 7.1 % to reach 3.06 billion Swiss francs (3.2 billion euros). Profit has completely plummeted: the operating result dropped by 67 % to 68 million francs (70 million euros), while net profit fell by 88 % to 17 million francs (18 million euros).
