The French government’s attempt to take fast fashion platform Shein offline for three months has gotten off to a rocky start. At the start of the emergency hearing in Paris, the Public Prosecutor’s Office said it “will not comply with the request to block the site”.
False start: immediate postponement
Today, Shein and the French government faced each other for the first time at the first hearing of the emergency proceedings brought by the State against the fast fashion platform. The French government is asking the court in Paris to shut down Shein’s website throughout France for three months, after child-like sex dolls and prohibited weapons were offered on the platform.
