Australian luxury fashion brand Zimmermann is expanding rapidly, opening flagship stores in leading shopping cities. The retailer has just opened a store in Brussels.
Vintage furniture
The new store is located on Boulevard de Waterloo, in the heart of the Belgian capital’s most important luxury shopping area. The spacious store, designed by Studio McQualter, extends over two floors in a building with a historic façade.
On the ground floor, customers will find the clothing collection on wall racks and in shiny freestanding cabinets. A display case with the brand’s growing collection of bags is installed above a striking Italian sideboard from the 1940s, while a piece of polished aluminium furniture puts the shoes in the spotlight.
Shiny ceilings mark the entrance to the salon, where two Japanese glass and brass wall lamps from the 1970s provide a soft, diffused light. An eclectic mix of vintage furniture, including a French art deco armchair in green velvet, gives the space character.
On the first floor, a space has been set up for private appointments, with a salon and fitting rooms. A custom-made sofa and a personalised graphic kilim rug are the eye-catchers here.
“A compelling experience”
“It’s a pleasure to open in Brussels! We have made optimal use of the natural light in the boutique and maintained a fresh and inviting design. I love the character that certain original details of the building give to the space; it adds to the history and creates a truly immersive experience for our customers”, co-founder Nicky Zimmermann says.
The luxury fashion brand from Australia was founded in 1991 by Nicky and her sister Simone Zimmermann. The label now has more than 58 stores, including in China, Europe and the United States.
