H&M is speeding up its expansion in Brazil: following the opening of a third store in Campinas, eight additional locations will follow shortly. The fashion chain sees room for seventy stores, but has opted for a gradual roll-out.

“Mexico, which has about half the population of Brazil, has seventy physical stores. We can reach that point, but it will take time, because we know you have to go step by step”, Country Director Joaquín Pereira told America Malls & Retail. The group links that ambition to a clear sequence: first get market understanding and logistics in order, then scale up. “When we reach that point, the Brazilian operation will have a significant weight in the company’s global results.”
