Danish fashion group Bestseller is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary with record sales and strong profit growth for its brands such as Jack & Jones, Only, and Vero Moda.

In its financial year 2024-2025, Bestseller’s revenue grew by 7 % to 38 billion Danish kroner (5 billion euros), the highest amount in the company’s history. Pre-tax profit rose by 10 % to 5.9 billion kroner (800 million euros) and operating profit amounted to 4.6 billion kroner (600 million euros). Total tax contributions amounted to 8.7 billion kroner (1 billion euros), the group emphasised on its website.
“This has been a special year for us, as we celebrate reaching a milestone none of us could have imagined when the first shop opened in 1975”, CEO Anders Holch Povlsen said. Fifty years ago, Merete Bech Povlsen and Troels Holch Povlsen opened a first store in Ringkøbing, Denmark. “One shop has expanded into more than 2,800 stores worldwide. One shop assistant in Ringkøbing has become 25,000 colleagues across 90 countries.”
