Coolblue is expanding its management team to support growth in both energy and international markets. The top management of the Rotterdam-based electronics retailer is doubling in size.
Energy is growing rapidly
Michiel van der Zanden, currently Head of Marketing, has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer. Lars van der Hoorn, previously Finance Director at Coolblue Energy, will take on the new role of Chief Energy Officer and will also be responsible for the physical stores.
With their appointments, Coolblue’s management team now consists of four members: founder and CEO Pieter Zwart, CFO/COO Daphne Smit, CMO Michiel van der Zanden, and CEO Energy Lars van der Hoorn. Until today, only Zwart and Smit formed the company’s management duo.
According to Coolblue, the reinforcement responds to the “strong growth of energy activities due to the successful sale of energy contracts through stores” and the “robust growth in Germany.” The retailer wants to better align its organization with this dual expansion. Coolblue closed 2024 with a turnover of 2.46 billion euros.
