This year, stores like Party City, Spirit Halloween, HalloweenCostumes.com, Target and shopDisney are offering their own lines of wheelchair covers and adaptive costumes, so kids can trick-or-treat as their favorites characters. From Buzz Lightyear to Elsa to mermaids and sharks who live under the sea, these wheelchair costumes and adaptive outfits will let them have the best Halloween ever.
Of course, even with so many ready-to-buy offerings, it's often the DIY projects that still wow the most. Ideas like rangers from Jurassic Park, a Ghostbuster driving an Ecto-1 or a Dr. Who (complete with TARDIS) let families and other trick-or-treaters get in on the act.

Dr. Who Costume
Any young Dr. Who would look the part with his very own TARDIS. This young Doctor's parents made it a family costume by going as companion Amy Pond and Rory the Roman.

Target has many adaptive and wheelchair costumes in its Hyde & Eek! Boutique, including this fuzzy llama costume, which has a full-length side zipper and shoulder snap closure. It also comes as a dragon, a unicorn, a shark and a kangaroo.
Jurassic Park Palentologist Costume
The inflatable T-Rex really adds a sense of urgency to this Jurassic Park outfit. This family chose to do a group costume, with siblings dressed as additional dinosaurs.

Forget pirates — what you really have to watch out for is sharks! The tail of this costume is a blanket, and it also comes with the shark hat.
Kids can become denizens of the deep with this mermaid blanket tail, which comes with the coordinating headpiece. You also get the shell for the back of the chair.
