LEGO sets come in just about every shape, size, and licensed theme you can dream up. But some sets stand out for their sheer enormity. Not only are they impressive to display, but they've also got a lot of bricks if you're up for the challenge. Anyone can do them, but they tend to gravitate towards LEGO collectors eager to take on the task of building sets of up to 10,000 individual pieces.

Unfortunately, the biggest LEGO set ever made—the Art World Map — is retired, but you may get lucky and find it on the resale market in limited stock. But other crazy large sets, like a nearly 5-foot-tall Eiffel Tower, are still sold by LEGO.

Note that since most LEGO pricing is based on the number of pieces (and other special features, like minifigures), these tend to be a bit pricey. But if you want a good challenge or set to impress, these large builds would make a standout gift or family project you can work on together.

The largest set currently available, and the tallest set LEGO has ever made, this replica stands at 4 feet and 11 inches tall when completed. It's built in four sections that snap together, and there is an esplanade underneath with trees and lamps, to make it feel like the real deal.

It's a limited item, so it's often on backorder, but you can still pre-order one now that will ship when it returns to stock.

At over 4 feet long, this ship features all of the elements that make it so famous. Once finished, it opens into three sections so you can see inside to the boiler room and grand staircase. The pistons even have a button to make the propellers turn. It's a 1:200 scale ship model of the vessel that set sail on that fateful night in 1912. Jack and Rose are not included.

LEGO has made some pretty spectacular Star Wars sets over the decades, but none more magnificent than this nearly 8,000-piece Millennium Falcon. The ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs is fully realized and can be configured to showcase the classic and recent crews.

This set comes with minifigures of Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, and C-3PO, along with an older Han Solo, Rey, and Finn. The set also has a buildable BB-8, Mynock, and several Porgs so that you can reenact scenes on the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.

This might not look that big, but at over 6,000 pieces, this is an impressively accurate build of The Mandalorian ship. The model has side hatches that open and cargo storage, along with a cockpit where the minifigures of Mando and Grogu can hang out. It's over 2 feet long, and in addition to the two minifigures, the Mythrol, Kuiil, and a Blurrg are also included.

I'm an avid LEGO builder and have put together some large sets, and this is one of the most challenging I've attempted. The level of detail is truly unmatched, because you feel like you are building Rivendell with a colorful tile roof, a gazebo, and delicate trees. Other standout features include statues on the outside of the tower and the table with all the fellowship. Plus, it comes with 15 minifigures to really make the movie scenes a reality.

If you want to realize your Hogwarts fantasy, this 6,000+ piece set is the one to get. It comes with an incredible four minifigures and 27 microfigures so that you can set up a dining scene in the Great Hall or your favorite potions class. The castle comes with a spinning Whomping Willow tree, Hagrid's Hut, and boats for sailing the Black Lake. If you aren't quite ready for the full castle or don't have the space for this, there is a smaller version available.

One does not simply walk into Mordor, but one could build the dark tower that looms over Middle Earth. The Eye of Sauron stands at the top of the nearly 3-foot structure, and it comes with a light brick to give it an eerie glow. An automated black gate opens and closes, and inside the structure, there is a throne room, a prison, and a weapons forge.

Attention minifigure lovers, this Marvel tower comes with 31 individual characters so that you can make your own Endgame battle. Round out the impressive structure with multiple vehicles, like a Leviathan, Quinjet, and two Chitauri chariots. The front panel is removable and allows access to each floor that's filled with things like the glass walkways, where Captain America fights with himself.

Nothing can quite capture the feeling of walking into a Disney Park and seeing the castle, but this almost 3-foot-tall castle can give you a little bit of the magic when you walk into your house. This Princess-filled dream comes with Tiana, Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel and their significant others. And there are magical fireworks that jut out of the building for a little extra sparkle.

While the Hogwarts Castle may be the most distinctive silhouette in the Harry Potter universe, Gringotts, with its watchful dragon, is probably a close second. The bank stands on a platform that looks precariously balanced (but is surprisingly sturdy), so you can see the vault beneath. You can put Hagrid and Harry in a cart that moves down a spiral track.

LEGO has mastered the art of making realistic flowers with their popular botanical line, but if you want a truly challenging floral set, this option is the way to go. This miniature botanical garden centers around a conservatory with glass-like bricks and includes 35 different plant species.

In the 67-year history of LEGO, they have made so many scale model replicas in building brick form, and this is a prime example of those decades of experience. This isn't just the Artemis rocket or Orion capsule, but both, and also includes the retractable launch tower. Completed, it stands an impressive 27.5 inches tall and has a separate stand for display.

While many of the larger sets are targeted to adults, this set is geared to fans 14 and up. Ninjago is a LEGO-themed and corresponding TV series, and this playset comes with 10 minifigures and a buildable mech figure that can be placed around this four-story apartment complex. It includes moving elements like working cranes and individual stores and apartments for acting out favorite scenes and battles.

Our Senior Parenting Editor, Marisa LaScala, had a great time putting this set together with her family. "It's full of great little details, like different objects and accessories that belong to the different X-Men," she says. "My husband and 9-year-old enjoyed figuring out who owned the boom box, the bubble gum, or the issue of the X-Men comic that came with the set."

She adds that once the set was built, "It has all these fun touches, like a dome that pops off so you can pretend a Sentinel destroyed it. It also comes with a TON of minifigures and pieces that make them look like they're flying or using powers."
